The truth is mgmt in Detroit, most of whom were wingers like yourself, was at different times inept and greedy and confused. They refused to listen to what they were told on the factory floor or from the American public. They ignored what their competition was doing, and especially at GM, their design teams were rooted in the 1950s, turning out designs that were turning off Americans. And let's not even discuss quality......Detroit believed in forced obsolescence and their cars fell apart almost on cue. They are lucky Obama forced their restructuring and saved their sorry asses.
