SI could go lots of different directions, from trying to bring in a lot of new young blood to jazz things up, to adding more analytical content from outside or from long-term members, all kinds of possibilities. That's nice. So, how exactly should Brad do that? You gonna pay for it? He's making this place free, and getting rid of ads. Meaning, he is financing the whole deal out of his own pocket, and doing all the coding by himself. For our benefit, not his. My complaint is that apart from random messages like this, I see no effort by management new or old to begin to ask in any systematic way. Ask what? Please be specific. Otherwise you're just whining. I would like to hear whether management thinks SI is the sum of its current parts, after 15 years of operations, or it's just a launching vehicle for some grand new venture we won't find out about until we log in one morning and find the site we have supported for years has changed again dramatically. Dude. Brad got SI back, a couple of days ago. Do you always have a totally worked out masterplan for everything you do, a few hours after you start? If so, guess you should be in charge here! (On second thought, hope that never happens.) And, you demand he should have had a totally worked out plan, yet he should be totally responsive to your particular, very unclear needs, at the same time. See a bit of a dichotomy in that, mayhaps? That has been the track record since I joined in 1997. You are aware of the fact that there has been a series of SI owners, all of whom could not have given a rat's ass about us members, since Brad and Jeff sold the place, right? Now Brad has it back. Why would he do that, after he and Jeff cashed out for $33 million? Because he wants to screw this place up, and hose us members, you think? Think again. Deeply. Then come up with some concrete ideas, instead of behaving like an annoying dog, barking for a bone.
