Family Life, African American Families under Slavery African family traditions, which varied according to national origin and religion, could not be replicated in the New World after Africans were forced into slavery. The slave trade was responsible for breaking up African families, and husbands, wives, and children were liable to be sold separately because U.S. law did not legally recognize their families countriesquest.com

Currently I am reading a book that has a few statements in it by a woman now deceased who lived in France most of her life and wrote for the New Yorker.. She said think on how much of religious thought is tied up in sexual contexts. Virginity.... The Virgin Mary Circumcision . The old testament. Clitoris removal . Savage denigration of women. We seem to revolve a lot of our thinking all around sexual things and homosexuality is just the latest ... Oh there is bestiality too and I am sure some of you here can think of more. I am run out.
