nice conjecture, but i think, lost in all the euphoria of the last TWO trading sessions, is that the biggest cloud out there is the persian gulf situation. while the market seems to bounce around quite a bit, if bill cannot contain sodom (sic) and he needs to take unilateral military action, we will see a retest of the 7200 level after the mini-crash just 2 weeks ago. a good war is only beneficial to the market after the U.S. comes out victorious. but there is really no way for bill and his cronies to win this fight. sodom has them by the balls and he will likely test bill's gumption.

if there is a war, oil will get more expensive and all the hullaballoo over asia will take a back seat as greenspan worries about inflation again.

moral: don't get too optimistic, as most people have observed, we are in a trading range between 7000-8000 and will likely stay that way for the near term.

by the way, thanks for the support regarding covered calls.

i may lose some additional profit, but after being down 40k in the past two weeks, i would be pleased to end the year with my 18% gain locked up.
