Neil:

What Ted posted was about some Republican senators saying that the poorer section of the American society need to bear a increased burden of taxes. Such a statement reflects what the Tea Party stands for. And that is how I extended the discussion to the Tea Party.

You can only convince me about the intentions of the Tea Party not being what I said in my post if you can clarify for me the following:

1. Why is it that the Tea Party came into existence right after Obama took office? The country was going down the drain for the 8 years that Bush was in office. Why didn't these people band together to sound the alarm then that they are doing today. There was no Tea Party right up until the Presidential elections in 2008. Or was there one and we didn't know about it!!!

2. That the Tea Party is not confrontational would be something I would believe if they stop opposing Republican candidates who are for reaching deals and agreements with the Democrats, a very basic approach for a democratic process. Their refusal to negotiate and to have it their way always is what anarchists do. If they do not believe in the democratic process wherein it is essential to accommodate all points of view, then they have no right to the freedoms that we, the believers in democracy do.

I am as fearful of the Tea Party as I am fearful of the Al Qaeda, which is also a populist movement which has spread to the US as evidenced by the sleeper cells. The Tea Party lost many of their candidates such as the Senatorial seats in Alaska, Delaware, Nevada. So what sort of a populist movement is it?

The Tea Party is a bunch of racists who are alarmed at the diversity this nation is emerging into. They want to preserve their wealth and their property.

Here is where you argument falls flat on its face. Bush was totally irresponsible doubing the deficit (5 to 10 trillion) giving our money away to his rich friends and started two bullshit wars (and funded thme off budget i.e.id not pay for tem for first time in history) and Repbulcians didn't say a word.

They never talk about deficits when they are in power. Only when the dems are in power!!!!!

And Raygun gave millions of illegals amnesty to become citizens. Bush did nothing about illegals and Republicans did not say boo.

But the minute dems get in you want to cut social programs to solve the deficit and give Obama heartburn for soemthing no REpublcian did, i.e. solve the illegals problem.

And it is OK for Raygun to let illegals have amnesty, but not Obama.

Can you say hypocrisy?

<<It is being an anarchist because you want your country's government to behave in a fiscally responsible means and it doesnt listen? They are radicals because they are unhappy that our government is spending way beyond its means? They are fascists because they dont support a nanny state- that individuals should be give opportunity to succeed or fail? They are racists because they want the govt to do one of the jobs they are actually chartered to do- protect our borders?

The Tea Party is just a bunch of disgruntled two time Bush voters, ashamed to call themselves (R)'s. It was a way not to be responsible for those votes. The WORST of the Republicans..

Not totally following how you got to the tea party from what Ted posted but I get tired of this class warfare bs.(politics)

Republicans have made it a class issue by catering to the wealthy and to corps at the expense of the rest of us. They are insisting that the tax privileges bestowed them under Bush be kept even as this country is facing its worst financial crisis in 75 years. Your party has moved away from what was best for the country to a position of what's best for the individuals who populate your party. Coincidentally, that movement has become more pronounced as the country became more ethnically and racially diverse and as the rights of the disenfranchised have been repeatedly affirmed.

And if you all keep it up, this financial class warfare may become a real war. See Bahrain.

Neil, if the Tea Party is so interested in the welfare of this country, then why is it backing away from comprehensive debt reduction of US $4B? Why just cuts in Medicare and SS but no raising of taxes.

What is it that is so very hard to perceive of the sinister motives of the anarchist Tea Party folks.
