Chip equipment maker Novellus Systems (NVLS) this afternoon reported Q2 revenue below analysts’ estimates but beat on the bottom line.

Revenue in the three months ended in June fell 15.2% to $350.2 million, yielding EPS of 79 cents.

Analysts on average had been expecting $352 million and 76 cents EPS.

Bookings dropped 25%, the company said, from Q1's level, to $312 million. Shipments fell 5%. to $376.9 million.

Novellus shares are up 33 cents, almost 1%, at $36.10 down 52 cents, or 1.5%, at $35.25 in late trading.
