Because the Bush administration wasn't saying anything different than what leading Democrats had been saying for years and were still saying.m m That's why leading Democrats supported the invasion.

Ted, you're making way too many false assumptions. Such as the assumption that newspapers abroad are more liberal than the ones here. You're just looking at Europe, which in general is more liberal than America. I guarantee you that's not the case in Asia and the Middle East.

Sure, America is a center-right nation, but most of the mainstream newspapers here lean left. That has many, many roots dating back to the muckraking days of the Industrial Revolution. Even in academia, journalism majors lean left for the same reason why business majors lean right. It's just a value system.
