jhild, So if you have a cable modem, is this the way that you are connected? Or am I thinking of someone else that is using cable modem?

I use ISDN but if my kid has the ISDN line tied up I'll use x2, and I get reliable 48k connections on x2. I have been aware of the ethernet card required to get cable service. Also the US West DSL service (possibly in my area by year end) requires a NIC. I already have Linksys NIC's in my machines but they are ISA cards and I plan on putting 3Com PCI NIC's in soon.

Oh yeah, it's Glenn that uses a Cable Modem, and Tulvio is now using one too. It looks like I will have DSL before cable and plan on signing up for the 320kbps service, it's cheaper than ISDN!
