>> Look Ten, the incandescent light bulb has been the same for 90 years...and don't say crap like the new halogen incandescent bulbs are more expensive

Just look at the disasters government has created by trying to "push" technologies on the public.

Consider the low-flush toilet, which is STILL a train wreck after what, 20 years?

Consider the current rush to electronic health records, which is nothing short of a disaster because the software wasn't ready.

And of course, there is the Chevy Volt.

Government just cannot force these things. They must evolve under market influences.

Al, > and don't say crap like the new halogen incandescent bulbs are more expensive as if you don't understand the cost curve progression or the fact that they last much longer

CFLs were supposed to "last much longer." That proved to be false.

Halogen incandescents are indeed twice as expensive than traditional bulbs. Don't wanna hear the facts, I see.

I think your idea of the "cost curve progression" is the same old pipe dream I hear from every vendor of expensive "green technology." "Oh, the price will come down as volumes go up." That ignores the need to find a critical mass of market demand.

But since you obviously pretend to know more than you do, I'll let you keep pretending that you know WTF I'm talking about.
