Gold is a good measuring stick for mob mentality

Just curious -- how many people do you know that actually own physical gold? I am aware of only 2 of my direct acquaintances that own ANY (not necessarily large amounts either).

I'm unaware of a current "mob mentality" in gold, but think we'll eventually get one at much higher prices. I'm genuinely interested in whether your own personal experience with others is indicative of such mob mentality. How many people do you know personally that own physical gold?

Your antipathy to owning gold is misinformed. I suspect that you know that there are numerous ways of owning gold that do not require you to bury it in your backyard.

Gold clearly fascinates you. Most of your recent posts deal with it. While you clearly denigrate those of us who own it, mobs, cultists, atavistic Aztecs, etc., you somehow manage to say that you have nothing against owning it. It seems that you are both fascinated and repelled.

The fascination is a very fun and interesting thing to observe since you did predict year end price and presumably decided not to participate in the profits despite having thought carefully about it.

I think you must be very conflicted about gold for reasons I cannot begin to fathom.

It is just an investment instrument to me, a very useful and profitable one. I can drop It instantly if I see something better. I doubt that will happen anytime soon. Am waiting for the mania stage to begin, just like the December 29,1999, mania that hit Q which I should have sold.
