It is difficult to discount the correlation between the use of HFCS and the current obesity epidemic. The average American consumes 3lbs of sugar/week today, which is an insanely high level historically.

You're talking about the 1800's and early 1900's......our obesity epidemic started only about 20-30 years ago....and I also believe it's directly related to sugar consumption....
