>> LOL...do you want me to dig up the post in which you CHEERED a default?

You people are so confused. This process is working precisely as it should. The Rs are using their leverage to force the Ds to agree to huge budget cuts because Congress has been out of control for too long.

There will be no 'default'. Missing the August 2 deadline is NOT "default". I do not really care whether they make the August 2 deadline or not. The longer the Rs hold out, the more pressure is on Obama & the Ds to go along, and that's a good thing for America.

>> You can't even get right the definition of a default ..

There is one definition of default in this context. The Ds have corrupted its meaning to suit their political purposes, which is business as usual for them.

>> Really? Is 900B now better than 3.7T or 2.2T? The truth is that boehner couldn't deliver on obama's proposal and both men knew it.

>> I wonder whether obama did him a favor willfully or whether boehner saw his chance for a hasty retreat...

$900B now and forcing them to revisit it in a few months is just fine. At least this recovers what Obama wasted on the stimulus.

The important point is it sets a precedent. If the Ds want increased borrowing ability, they're going to have to cut spending to get it.
