Sure I've changed my investment style. I'm 10 years older, and have a lot more to lose.

12 years ago I had a dead end job and a dream, LOL. Wasn't afraid to go 100% in a single stock. I got REALLY lucky...

I can actually go back and dig up the posts of my trades here. Put 100% of my RRSP into Microforum and it tripled in a week. Could have gotten a 5-bagger out of it. Put 100% of my trading account into a single stock and went camping for a week while it more than doubled.

Would never do that now. Of course, how many stocks double in a year now (or the trades not negated if they do, LOL)? Ironically, in 1999, I was reluctant to go into tech stocks, having figured out a crash was coming. Held my nose and bought a few as the markets rose. Missed much of the eventual Nasdaq run to 5000 (wonder when it'll ever get there again).

The times have changed. We adapt or we disappear. It's all about risk management these days (actually, it always was. I just didn't realize it).

But... we're still here. In the words of Carl Yastremski at the end of his 20 year career in "the bigs" on the people who couldn't make it,

"I've seen em come, and I've seen em go."
