A week or so ago I was discussing the impasse with a friend who blamed it on the fact that all these new Congressmen weren't taking the time to learn their jobs and were acting like know-it-alls. There is a bit of that, but in some ways I think a lot of the newbies know their job better. Those entrenched in government have lost sight of important aspects of their jobs. Yes they can keep things running smoother (for now), but the direction you going in, and the destination you arrive at, is more important than the smoothness of the journey.
