rod, i agree with your sentiments, but unfortunately it's not product that sells, it's marketing. i know from first hand experience. i'm in a low, low-tech business with a product infinitely better than my competition. their brand name is nationally recognized while i'm the best kept secret in the business. the point i wish to make is that it's the MIS guys who buy product, and in these days of "correctness"(political or otherwise), people can cover their ass by going with BILLY BOY. let's just hope in this "information age" that aplx can get them the" information" in a timely fashion. you are correct in that there is nothing BILLY BOY can do to stop the java wave, just like ibm could not stop distributed computing. but the trick here is timing and marketing. let's hope that our team can do both.
