How To Contribute To The MSDS And FTSS Databases

CCOHS invites your company to join the hundreds of suppliers currently represented in our MSDS and FTSS databases. These databases are publicly distributed on CCINFOdisc and online electronic networks.

MSDS and/or FTSS collections are accepted from the company or organization which prepares the MSDSs and is responsible for their content and currency.

The complete MSDS collection is provided to CCOHS and all new and revised MSDS provided as they occur. Users can thereby be assured that the MSDS are the most current available.

To contribute MSDS:

* consult CCOHS before sending your MSDS collection; our staff will advise you on policies, and convenient procedures

* MSDSs in electronic form are preferred; they can be processed quickly and economically and appear in the database exactly as provided by your company (a specification document is available from CCOHS)

* MSDSs on magnetic tape or floppy disks in a variety of formats are acceptable -- a few basic restrictions apply

* no charge to you for contributing MSDSs to the databases

To make arrangements for contributing MSDSs contact:

As of three hours ago JBII has a single MSDS on file at the CCOHS site, yet JBII's web site claims they have 3 products available for sale: diesel, furnace oil and fuel oil #6. Was the product sold to both Oxy Vinyls and Coco the same "Petroleum distillate" that MSDS refers to? Where are the MSDS sheets for the other JBII fuel products we were led to believe JBII would produce and sell?

Shell Canada has over 150 MSDS' on file at the CCOHS site just for diesel variants alone. One hundred and fifty just for diesel!

There's still almost 9 hours until the market opens again so if Honest John hasn't gotten bored waiting for new posts and gone to bed there's still time to submit the other two. Fiduciary duty to protect shareholder value and all that.
