Sounds like the Network Station will be getting some exposure ... from NCWorld at ncworldmag.com

"IBM's NC gets the acting bug

The IBM Network Station NC has caught the acting bug -- so if you think you see one on your favorite TV show or movie, you probably did.

The precinct bull-pen on Fox's New York Undercover is one of the first television locale to follow the trend toward the future when it returns next season. The machine will also make its film debut in a Warner Brothers remake of Hitchcock's 1954 Dial M for Murder, entitled A Perfect Murder.

And as if making its mark on mainstream culture wasn't enough, the Network Station has also become part of the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design's Permanent Design Collection. The selection was based on aesthetics, innovation, function, and appearance. "

More Importantly: ncworldmag.com

"IBM claims it has customers now ordering more than 10,000 Network Stations at a time. But no customers will come out publicly in favor of the NC. It just takes one endorsement from a reputable, household name to pop open the NC marketplace. One really huge NC contract.

Federal Express just may be that leader. Federal Express is reportedly on the brink of purchasing over 50,000 NCs. If this happens, the NC market is expected to boom with other Fortune 500 companies following FedEx's lead. This is the type of contract the NC market needs to grow and succeed. "

Doug, Will the delay of usoft's NT 5.0 adversely affect the NC market? Some "industry experts" say that it may not be released in 1998.

On another note: InfoWorld Electric Article:
IBM plans major push toward thin clients
infoworld.com

"Many companies require extensive capacity and performance modeling before they can even consider implementing a server-based network. Often times, IBM or some other global services company is called in, resulting in lengthy and expensive evaluations of the existing network, according to Dies.

IBM plans to release new software in the first quarter of next year to automate that process, eliminating the services fees. "

This should really simplify the evaluation process for large (and small) corporations.

How to read "Network Computing Devices is TEAMING WITH MICROSOFT to provide a cost-effective and easy to manage desktop for accessing Microsoft NT "Hydra". This Windows-Based Terminal project, known as "Thumper" and based on a Microsoft-endorsed design, will augment NCD's current Explora family of thin client devices"? ncd.com

Just wonder what kind of "TEAMING" is.
