I see forced "neutrality" that involves suppressing people's freedom to exercise their religion as oppressive.

I know its possible to find historical examples of oppression by Christians but thats a lousy reason to favor defacto suppression of Christians today.

You think your religion is so weak you need to have folks owning the governmental machinery to perpetuate it?

I find it ridiculous to think a high school invocation or a post-911 assembly will make people Christian ... so I wonder why atheists sue to prevent these and similar things. In fact, I noted recently that atheists make themselves look odious to many people by pursuing these things. As I noted previously, there was a time when liberals weren't aggressively hostile to Christianity. I think that change is why liberalism has become an unpopular word. It doesn't help either atheist's or liberal's causes to frame themselves as hostile to Christianity.
