Excellnet analogy :))
Microsoft didn't build the Mercedes in the first place (despite the money) because the Yugo has its origin in the coal engine. We should all be proud enough that Microsoft was able to make such a cheap car with such a size with a coal engine driving it. Microsoft knows how to build internal combustion engines, it's just that new cars (Mercedes and all) have to run on coal. Now that's a challenge. We'll have to wait until they release a coal engine Mercedes.
You never know, maybe switching back to coal as a fuel is good for the customer, better yet, maybe it's what the customer wants. Oh well, like the customer knows what he/she wants, it's just good for them.

(I can't resist.)
General Motors executives see a funny looking little car from Germany with a VW emblem on the hood (or is that the trunk--can't tell). "How cute" they say. Six months later they see three of them in one afternoon. "Hmmm...maybe we should look into this." They buy one, just to check it out. "What a piece of crap. It is so tiny, makes lots of noise, does 0-60 in 2 minutes, and has no fins! Forget about it. Our cars are much better and they are what the American people really need."

GM (and Ford, and Chrysler, and American Motors (who?)) continue to build, powerful, comfortable, big boxy cars, and before you know it, not only the Germans are invading the car market, but those pesky Japanese are sending cars with really funny names and shapes to our shores. GM buys a "Datsun", test drives it. "What a piece of crap. It is so tiny, makes lots of noise, does 0-60 in 30 seconds, and has no fins! Forget about it. Our cars are a little better for some things and even though the American people are buying these Japanese cars, we know what they really need."

Moral of the story??
