Switching is always fraught with difficulty and risk. I sold a bunch of companies during 2009 slump at low prices (including AXP at some point). In some cases the switch worked. In some it didn't. Like I mentioned earlier on this thread, buying BRK in 2009 bottom was a bad decision, since it never even doubled unlike some other companies that went 3x-10x (including AXP ;)). Unfortunately, predicting which stock out of two undervalued ones will perform better is very tough IMHO.
