Changes in earnings estimates are simply confirmations of what people already know about short term trends.

What possible meaning, and through what prediction method, can someone infer that a company will make a penny more in a year that end in 1999. That's like the weatherman predicting that there will be on more cloudy day the same year.

Analysts and weathermen share about the same accuracy in forecasts. They both do much better after the fact...

It is 6% not .3% for SEG. But what is bad about any downward revision, no matter what size, is that it is not an upward revision, which is needed to help make a stock price go up.

You people keep insisting that Wall Street analysts who make $1 million a year including bonus can just sit around drinking coffee till they feel like updating their revisions. I have had this discussion with someone else. It is a completey absurd notion. You do not make $1 million a year by being a laggard.

Hahahaha! What a joke. People accuse me of being rude. But excuse me. I think it is much more rude to waste electrons and potentially mislead people by making silly comments like that.

How do you know this revision is not in response to a new development? It obviously is.

As always, "the point" of posting the revision is to help those who have an open enough mind to recognize a bad situation where it exists, and get out, so they can put their money in a more productive investment. That is the whole point of SI. To swap information to help each other out.

Happy Investing!
