ML lowers GM estimates due to Asia/Brazil exposure

General Motors Corp. (GM) 61 15/16 -5/8: a Merrill Lynch analyst believes "1998 earnings at General Motors will be hurt by the company's exposure in Southeast Asia and Brazil;" thinks Brazil will lower GM's 1998 EPS by $0.55 a share, while Southeast Asia to cut earnings by an additional $0.15 a share..... Mohan, I have owned this stock for ever. It together with Tandum have been the best trading sardines on wall street. Tandum never went anywhere except between $20 and $30, but Adobe keeps on creeping up. I never short it but buy when it hits the bottom trendline.

CPQ took my Tandum away from me, darn
