Bomb was built in Canada. Joint British, CDN and later American initiative. Rolphton Ontario. It cannot be "looked up".
But if you drive 110 miles east of where I used to live you come to the world's first nuclear reactor. Its heavy isotope natural U3O8 fuel produces a plutonium by-product by use of a deuterium moderator which is also a coolant. The offical story is that it was commissioned in 1950. My father worked at that reactor and he worked there before 1950. And it was not on the building of it. He was an operations engineer.

Greasy Groves and Appleton were cover stories. MI5 started work on it with Niels Bohr since 1938. But mostly Canadian mining and physics people got it to where it would work. Trouble was plutonium fizzles and blows it self apart before it becomes supercritical so the simultaneous explosions of shaped charges and something else special became a necessity. Its alot more complex than it seems. Blowing the plutonium together is only half the story.

Good planes are only half the story too. But the CIA lies about american air superiority don't jive with what actual pilots tell me.
And you either believe the publication of aces names or you don't.
If the Russians can lie about numbers so can the Americans. But all that is now a matter of record and TV special. I am surprised you don't know.
