I agree. We don't need VSGN at this point.

The market seems to agree as well.
vsgn up 2 1/2 .... borl down 1 1/2.

peter, I hear what you are saying and there is need to be cautious. I am however holding BORL.

The OPEN acquisition was as you say a disaster and pushed the share price down to $5. However the price was going down anyway. At least this time the trend price for BORL is up.

It is of concern that VSGN is losing $10m per year. Maybe some of the accounting analyst's on this thread can break this down a bit.

Assuming that most guesses on this thread of BORL's expected earnings of about $5m per quarter then BORL earnings would have been about $20 for 1998 without the acquisition..

there are 2 possibilities..

either the combined earnings in 1998 will be about 20 -10 i.e 10 million per year

or

we were underestimating BORL earnings. As Yocam is saying there will be no dilution in earnings per share then I suggest that BORL earnings
are higher than we have guessed above..

any other ideas anyone?

>>It is too bad to hear that BORL is buying VSGN. VSGN is a company which never made a penney before. BORL needs to pay $150 million for a company revenue of less than $20 million and lost more than $10 million each year, why?

Because BORL needs the technology !!
VSGN has not made any $$ yet because they are a startup. They were not
expected to turn a profit until this year. They are the leading provider of CORBA and ORB technology and a great bargain.

As a VSGN stockholder my question is what do I need BORL for ??
They have been limping along for years. At least VSGN was forward
thinking and technologically cutting edge. Now I get 0.821 shares of
a real woofer.
