Do you think that he is going to come up with some sort of a stimulus program and call it a "jobs program" instead of a stimulus? If he does so in September/October, then wouldn't that be considered going to the mat for the American people?

I agree with you that he needs to go to the mat for the American people to improve his chances for re election. I also think he needs to order a significant troop withdrawal right away. Some have said that the returning troops may increase the number of unemployed. But if there is a greater need to create jobs here instead of military jobs in Afghanistan, then it would be expedient to bring them back right now.
