"The retreads were called back in - many of the
same people whose very ideas and philosophies caused the problems
back then and that we still see to this day."

That was when I began to question if what I was seeing and hearing matched what Obama was doing. Larry Summers?

That was very good.

"That moment in time was as propitious a time in American history as you could
have ever wanted." Seemed like it to me. Handed to him on a silver platter, and he dropped it.

"What did Obama then do? Not only did he not press his advantage - he" forgave Liebermann for campaigning for McCain, gave him his committee chairmanship back, and told the world he was a pushover, all before he even took office.

It could have been different.

It could have been worse.

You dream it might have been better- and it might have been, but it also could have been worse.

Its a stylistic maladoptation. Obama's style has always been "Let's find common ground".. That is ill suited to an environment wherein the other side maintains "There is no common ground you #*!!".

So the normal way to deal with people like that is to kick a little A--, but you've got to have the votes and the committee assignments in order to do that.

Result: Gridlock.
