What we liberals see is massive injustice and a planet beign torn apart mostly by ignorance and greed. The right wing loves to paint us as elitists. We are not at all elitist (we usually live modest lives), but someone has to point out the importance of education and facts like global warming. You're incorrigible. Your sense of superiority is grating even as I share many of the same values. You don't have all the answers. No one does. When we liberals do point out those things people get defensive. Because they cannot debate our specific points and do not know what to think. Liberals want to know when they are wrong. I want to know so I can change my mind. They are defensive because you present as superior to them.
