Interesting thoughts, but I do not grok them completely for they suggest some doubt re Script. Are you concerned that hyperinflation is so close that it is perhaps best to sell PMs and get into, say, real estate? No doubt inflation is ramping up. My rule of thumb in past couple of years is that one needs to achieve returns of more than 15 - 17 percent to beat it. Going forward, more, on order of 20. But so far, gold is cooperating. Miners are set to explode to upside soon, so all looks good so far....I suppose that is a very good reason to be nervous. It is important to remember that this is the first global credit event, that there will be no place to run and hide soon for no currencies will save anyone and that, most important for our purposes, debt will be 'paid' with overprinted paper. Iow, the risk of deflation is low. Plus, with inflation ramping up and ZIRP guaranteed, Gibson's Paradox practically guarantees that gold will go up. In other words, we are in inning 2 or 3 of The Great Deleveraging. The Script IMO still applies. The masses are getting the fever. I proselytized among friends for years, told them why and how things were going to hell and to buy gold to preserve wealth. I must be no good as a proselytizer for no one listened, but now I am a somewhat eccentric genius. But when I tell them that it is not too late, blank stares. Lots of lawyers like Ilene, utterly conformist linear thinking, no imagination, zero vision. I have truly tried. But the masses are getting it....the media is full of reports and there is lots of talk. At dinner with casual acquaintances I had not seen in years, the buzz was about gold, I said nothing for fear of being held as arrogant and, besides, wanted to see what the thinking might be. Was disappointed.....in a word, simple statements of amazement, no understanding, no one had studied things. Even the allegedly intelligent, with educational credentials to prove smarts, vbg, are going/getting slaughtered.
