But Obama wanted nothing to do with Stiglitz and Krugman. Instead he listened to Rahm and Geithner and Summers and his political friends.

koan, after several of your posts over the past two months, I have concluded that your prejudiced bend of mind has prevented you from a clear thought process. I am not sure if now you are even capable of thinking clearly any more.

Obama is the man with a veto. Because of that he can prevent a thing from happening. But it is for the Congress to propose. The stimulus comes from the Congress. The Congress or to be more precise the Senate did not have the filibuster proof majority. It was Lieberman who had the sole power to say what goes or does not go into the stimulus. so much for the liberals who are walking around with a chip on their shoulders. why did they not succeed in getting a real filibuster proof majority.

Both Krugman and Stiglitz yelled to the tree tops the stimulus was not large enough to deal with depression at hand and would not work. Over and over and over they yelled this. But Obama wanted nothing to do with Stiglitz and Krugman. Instead he listened to Rahm and Geithner and Summers and his political friends.

When are you going to deal with reality? Seriously, koan, its enough. The stimulus that we got barely passed.......because some Dems, not Rs, but Dems thought it was too big and would not vote for it. It needed 217 votes to pass and it got either 217 or 218 votes. You and Krugman need to deal with frigging reality!

Even more prescient, Krugman also predicted there would not be the poltical will to go back for another stimulus. And so it all happened EXACTLY as Krugman predicted.

You call that prescient? WTF? There is nothing prescient about it.

So let's give Krugman and Stiglitz their due. They saw it clearly and Obama dismissed them. And one could predict they would be right and obama wrong, as they are among the smartest economists in the world.

He didn't dismiss them...........the stimulus they recommended would not have passed Congress.......no way, no how. Again, its the reality......something you really don't want to have to consider.

It was Obama's lightweight team of economists and economic politco's that misjudged things. He had fair warning from the truly best and brightest. He also saw Krugman and Stiglitz as radicals. Part of the lefty mafia as you say.

Obama wanted "moderates"-lol.

The only lightweights are those people who are rewriting history.
