Greg, in addition to your report on downward rivision of Chrysler earnings there is more "Good news" from Detroit (-g-): Quote from a WSJ-Online article:

With competition in the U.S. auto market growing progressively more intense, General Motors Corp. has accelerated the scheduled start of a year-end sale that includes new incentives to lure customers into GM showrooms.

"We have seen a lot of price pressure," Donald R. DeVeaux, GM's director of North American market analysis, said in an interview. "And as much as we would like to not go down this death spiral, you have to react."
