There is no doubt that the economy thereby negating the QE3 launch. Job figures will not go down partly because people are collecting unemployment since they are not being hired if they are over 50. The employers instead prefer to hire younger workers particularly those fresh out of colleges.

OTOH the stock market keeps going up thereby improving our 401Ks. And this give some level of confidence to the unemployed workers in that they at least have some income coming by way of their 401k funds. It is a bunch of crap when the right wingers say that people are not looking for jobs. The fact of the matter is that they are not being offered any. And now we have some emboldened employers who refuse to hire those who have been out of work for 6 months or more. The anticipation is that Obama's job plan may provide tax incentives to those employers who hire the long term unemployeds.
