sdgla, I didn't expect to have to explain that to anyone, much less two of you.

Here's the post again:

I'm not, as you suggested, saying that "opening a non union plant and creating the subsequent jobs is the criminal equivalent to shooting a gun at someone".

What I was pointing out was that an otherwise lawful act can be unlawful depending on the intention of the actor.

In this case, If Boeing is locating the plant in SC in order to penalize it's union employees for taking actions that are protected under the National Labor Relations Board Act, then that intention may render an otherwise lawful act unlawful.

It's like chess versus checkers and the law is a chess match. Ed
