but without something in between capital and labor it just leads to an unequal society that eventually leads to instability and social unrest.

Let's be realistic, there will ALWAYS be some sort of social unrest. Socialism, capitalism, democratic socialism, communism, nazism, facism, marxism, constitutional republic, sharia (kind of a mixture of economic and political systems there).....can you give one example where there is ongoing peace, love and understanding between the people?

do we have stability in Europe? Greece, France and the UK have all had riots in the past couple of months. Africa and the Mid-east? do we really need to itemize the fun going on there? China seems pretty stable right now, but do you remember tiananmen square? And how much of China's stability is due to tyrannical oppression of any free expression of dissatisfaction with the government? Is that worth it?

No matter how much we try to achieve this magical stability, we cannot change the nature of humans. If you accept that, it is best to use the system that accepts that people are people. And I believe that the system that accepts that people are people (and we aren't trying to change them) is also the most moral.
