A number of years ago in Portland, Ore. I spotted a church sign which read, "All the problems in the world did not begin with the apple in the tree, but with the pear (sp) on the ground."

This same church was in a neighborhood that featured an "Adult Bookstore" just down the thoroughfare from it.

I suspect the church sign had a slight reference to its neighboring business.

It read:

"Behold, I come quickly."
