Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Although China insists that Taiwan is one of its provinces, the order was for MAX TNT, not ATM. So we still can look forward to the China contracts for ATM equipment.

What this press release didn't say was that Ascend had to discount 85% of list price to win this deal. It was a 3 way fight between Ascend, 3Com (USR) and Bay Networks. Every vendor wanted the business. However, only one vendor wanted the business at that price. So much for margins ...
