John, I agree that a major reason for sharing is a lack of resources. LGND has always been grossly underfunded. Their technology is very powerful and they discover many more drugs that they could hope to develop on their own. The big pharmas provide resources for the larger markets. However, LGND's pipeline is very long, and they will develop a great deal on their own when real money starts to flow, which is why long term investors will be very happy/
