Users are not necessarily investors so the dichotomy is not played up - they
tout NBase, as they should, and note that they're traded under MRVC without
a big to-do about the corporate name, MRV Communications.

Where would Nbase be without investors? S.O.S.
This is not aimed at you, Dee Jay.

Re: NBase also specializes in fiber optic communications and is one of the few single mode laser manufacturers in the country.

This is an important statement. Remember the post a few weks ago which I explained about the difference between single mode and multimode? With single mode fiber, you can transmit much further than multimode. Furthermore, if GE has problem with transmitting over a long distance on multimode fiber, then single mode is the alternative (more expensive of course).

Dee Jay, what do you suppose they mean by "NBase is a $200 million
company...." The market cap is more than triple that and the annual
sales of the company going back 4 qtrs is $148 million.

My guess is it's a typo because unless, I'm missing the obvious,
the $200 mill referes to revenues and in order for MRV to reach $200
mill in revenues in 1997 they'd have to do $83 mill in the current
quarter......

DeeJay:

When is management going to wisen up and change their name to Nbase?

I know that this has been asked on this thread many times, but why hasn't someone who has spoken to Noam (as frequently as some of them supposedly do) question him at great lengths about this?
