OT Treasury short:

I may be wrong, for exactly the reason you point out. Chronic deflation, with serial failed Keynesian stimulus efforts (and ever-higher government debt) is one possible future. Not a good one.

Plans usually fail, because the initial assumptions are wrong, or crucial facts are ignored. My initial assumption, in shorting Treasuries, was that the 30Y yield would be in a 3.5%-4.7% tradeable range. That 3.5% level may turn out to be resistance, not support. Certainly looks like it's failing.

Actually, events that lead to permanent 10Y Treasury yield <2%, would also lead to permanently suppressed consumer spending.......and less demand for chips....so this isn't OT after all.
