Our military is the biggest Corporate welfare that the Govt. runs. But the left wing takes up causes that are frivolous such as the environment etc. instead of the military. We do not need a military that is fashioned in a old world order while we try to figure out how to reform Medicare so as to keep in step with "the strides made in medical science" where pulling the plug becomes an issue because of longevity. Let us look at reforming the military based on the new world order. wonder why Obama was silent on that. It is just not sufficient for him to override the advice of his commanders and ordered a drastic reduction of troops to 3000. He needs to do more and challenge the Congress to do the same.
