He writes well ...hit the targets in that piece with more deadly accuracy than any JDAM...perhaps he lost credibility with you on one technical aspect . Have every confidence in the MIC waging war effeciently these days its when they run foreign policy that irks me . That this was a 10yr long overreaction from the start , oh well , but thats what we get when policy is dictated by a core tight knit group of neo~cons & hawks as it was under the younger Bush . This view is shared by the larger number of foreign policy elite but there it is , history will have to judge and if past is prologue ...it will be judged as another completely botched exercise in weakening ourselves.

But maybe there are those contingencies that remain hidden yet know the history of Iraq, Iran & our involvement pretty well .The Shock and Awe part worked pretty well & they knew it would be a long "war" . "They" are not my favorites though for determining US policy and the extravagant spending that we wont see the end of, no matter what politician or Petraeus promises . Hope he does well its been a long 50yrs worth of one botched deal after another .... almost record shatteringly bad .

( He just doesn't write things that would normally be discussed so openly or frankly which is why i posted it) .
