Why do we have a MLK day but not a 9-11 Day? National Holiday. A day of morning, a memorial day - but never a holiday.

I think a better question would be why do we have an MLK holiday and no president has a holiday? I know we have President's Day, but not one president has his own day by name anymore. Any one of the Founding Fathers is more important than a womanizing plagiarizer, but they don't fit the color template. .
