Curses. I wrote a great post, explaining the background and blah blah blah about finances from over half a century ago to now. Then I did a spastic click and blew the brower to smithereens and lost it all.

About 6mos ago i approached SI Bob about adding a whole new set of features to the editing box here on SI when in compose mode and now there's all these newest changes . But nothing so frustrating to have that errant click end up losing all the work , so made that & one other hoped for change to SI's newest edit features ...hopefully to not lose work like this :

On another Site you would just hit the back-button & your work would be cached , just made the
request earlier today:

Europe has a deeply flawed banking system, a widening competitiveness gap, and a debt crisis that cannot get much better if the economy gets worse. It is an already lethal cocktail that becomes more deadly when mixed inside the euro, a currency created without the resilience to withstand difficult times and which has no structure for effective decision-making. Either the euro has to be fundamentally reformed by Europe’s political leaders and the European Central Bank or it will collapse. After the events of the last few days I know for sure there is not even a chance of a middle way.

You did not address the gist of my post, that most opinions on AGW are based on politics, not science.

I find it extremely curious, and certainly statistically unexplainable, that virtually all of the posters on the left believe in AGW, while virtually all on the right do not.

I am for the moment excluding you since you do seem to have more knowledge than most, not that it is necessarily comprehensive or up to date.

The fact that a pre-existing political bias seems to be utterly predictive of views on AGW tells me that most posters's views on the subject are essentially worthless. If posters with a tilt to the left questioned AGW or if posters on the right accepted it, then the discussion would be a lot more interesting. The existence of those posters would suggest that some measure of independent non-political thinking is going on. As it is, it appears that most are married to their pseudo-scientific opinions on the basis of political beliefs. They are in my estimation issuing strongly worded opinions, etc., through their rear trumpet. Political bias has no place in scientific matters. Period, full stop.

As I said, I am not in the fray. I have no idea if AGW exists. I have things to consider that interest me a lot more than a subject most laypersons should consider too complex to opine on.

Brazil should discuss with other emerging countries, next week, ideas to help Europe out of the current debt crisis, said on Tuesday (13) Minister of Finance, Guido Mantega. "We (the BRIC countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) will meet in Washington next week and will discuss how to help the EU out of this situation," said Mantega
