I remember my friend in high school, a Swedish exchange student, saying that in the papers in Sweden, the US and USSR were characterized very similarly, both as menacing giants. It was contrary to what I was taught in high school and therefore a real eye opener to me.

"Today, Muslims are the new subhumans and both R's and D's see no problem spending billions of dollars destroying their lands and people for oil and other commodities."

Ron Paul pointed this out during the Tea Party debates and got booed. Well, I guess he also said that Al Queda was pissed that we have military bases in the Middle East. And that the Iraq War has killed tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians, and is it any wonder they don't like us.

So they booed him for that.

<<Other people form their reality out of their education. Krugman is in the latter category.>>

BC, when I say education, I mean all education from the ancient Greeks to modern theories of all nature, social, physical etc.

With the worldwide web, good raw education/knowledge is available to all. Some choose to learn and some choose to read people magazine.
