Thank you for a very informative reply. Well, I for one am glad to learn that the evaluation does not depend on the CST score. I think it would be very unfair if it did and I think that leads to all kind of unfair pressures on teachers and administrators which leads to the kind of cheating scandal we saw coming coming out of Atlanta this past year.

Is the extracurricular activity required as part of the standard teaching contract in your district?

And, is it the number of parental complaints that count against the teacher or the substance of such?

What is the socio economic status of the parents of your class students? Are they pretty involved? If so then the parents should provide the incentive. If not then I would understand you incentivizing them.
