I just spent three hours in a board meeting for a charity which gives out tens of millions of dollars to poverty related causes, listening to social service agencies talk about people who aren't getting enough food. That number has risen so much over the last few years, and government aid has not risen with it. And have you seen how many people are living at less than half the poverty level these days? It's shocking for a purportedly "first-world" country. -Z
