It's oxymoronic to combine the words Democrat and progressive. Socialism, which is the core of liberal political beliefs, is regressive not progressive. It was proven to be unworkable decades ago.

I have to agree...spending must be cut...but the rub is what to cut. The space program has been decimated because it has no constituency...now the Russian's rockets are blowing up and the space station might have to be abandoned. The government is the countries biggest employer. How do you change that?
