Mj, Yes, the NEA is non-profit in terms of its organizational set up via the IRS; however, it's model is one of a Union in which the individual teacher's voice is lost in the unionization of the teachers.

How can you say that the individual teacher's voice is lost in the unionization of the teachers? The teachers at the local level have the right and opportunity to vote for their local officers, for their delegates to the NEA and State Conventions who then have the right to vote on the NEA Constitution, Bylaws, Amendments and Resolutions which legally govern the NEA procedures which NEA employees have to follow or resign. And, I have not seen mass resignations.

Hopefully, you are not saying that all teachers are stupid, are you? Naturally, a majority rules on votes and the local, State and National levels. From my latest understanding we Americans believe in Democracy.
