What's good about losing value in the asset you hold?

I thought that was the whole purpose for you choosing Gold over paper..

Yet paper money is gaining value over PMs..

Seems like the fight you should be waging is being on the right side of the trade when the monetary/economic windsock changes direction.

You're in love with Gold, which is where we differ. All of these assets/commodities are trading vehicles in which I attempt to increase my wealth by exploiting undervalued and overvalued conditions.

A friend of mine, who is from HK, but lives in Boston, responded to a comment I made on my FB page. She holds Gold and I told her two days ago to sell it and buy the USD. But she pointed out the peg of the HK to the USD, so basically I told her to "go cash". Unfortunately, she was "underwater" on her trade and that would mean a loss for her. But I told her it was better than losing even more money, which then happened yesterday as Gold was down even more.

Such are the nature of speculative bubbles.. When they pop, they pop with blazing speed as fear overshadows greed.
