What I'm getting at, Z, is that the rise in price in silicon in the early 2000's was caused by a shortage of refined silicon caused by an upsurge in solar panel production. With the rising prices, it wasn't long before refining capacity was added and prices began to fall again. Note: There will never be a lasting shortage of silicon....it is the second most common element on earth.

Now, would you invest in a company that claims its competitive edge is based on the high price of silicon (as your article clearly states) when experts in the field clearly understood back then that the high prices were temporary and would come back down when more refining capacity came on line? If so, I've got a bridge......
