I just read a report from a top institution on QNTM. They reiterate their buy and eps estimate.

It was also mentioned that QNTM outlined their plan on the restructure of high end at COMDEX last night. Does anyone know what was said? All I've heard is that they are going to join the desktop and highend into one operation to try to reduce the $20MM in losses from high end.

Does anyone know exactly what the structure of QNTMs drive business model is? Are there seperate management / design / sales force / r&d in desktop and high end?

QNTM closes Colorado Recording Head Factory

This seem to be part of the restructuring plan that management talked about on the CC. They fired 430 employees and offered transfers to about 70 others. Apparently this has been expected since the MKE merger announcement.

It seems there is lots of information to obtain and digest.

I don't mean to be negative on QNTM, quite the contrary, but just be careful about heeding the top analysts, their paid to be right.

Someone once told me that the job of an analyst was not so much to be right, but not to be wrong. That is why some reports can contain 1000s of words and say nothing. Just like you said in your message, if a member of top management in a company talks to one of his or her personal friends who happens to be an analysts, then that person in management is only looking out for a few stockholders rather than the total and has no business holding his position.

I do not see that having BILLIONS of investor dollars gives a person the right to break the law. Once a companies stock is sold, how does it help the company to give out information that benefits only a few investors? I am not talking about agreeing or not agreeing with the analyst so much as I am saying that the top management of a company should not say the first word about the company unless it is given to everyone. If you buy 1 share of QNTM or 1 million shares, the benefit to the company is the same. That is , there is no benefit. So why should the person who buys the million shares get information from the officers of the company?
